Classification is the characteristic of all Character cards and some Action cards. Each character has at least 1 and up to 5 classifications listed on the card which are related to the character's original lore. Action cards can either have the Song classification or none at all. A character's classifications are located under the Ink banner and above the Ability box, separated by •. Some cards have Abilities that refer to particular classifications on characters. This might exclude them as targets or only affect cards with certain classifications.

Very few classifications in English, French and Italian are mutually exclusive, with the exception of gendered roles (Prince and Princess, King and Queen), while the rest can be used by all characters regardless of gender. This is not the case in German since the masculine and feminine forms are different. Despite this, there are no abilities in any German card as of Ursula's Return that affect characters with any classification in a different way from the rest of the languages.

Character's Classifications

Character classifications can be unofficially split into 3 different categories. A character can have one Origin, one Alignment or none, and any number of Species / Occupations, including none.

Action's Classification

As of Ursula's Return the only Classification that Action cards can have is Song.
