In the storyline, Illusion Glimmers are Glimmers conjured from the sand of Archazia's terraformed island. Controlled by Jafar, they are created to protect the Hexwell Crown and have no autonomy of their own.[1] Illusion Glimmers are nearly identical to their source counterparts, although the clones are not perfect copies. Being made from sand, Illusions give off subtle details such as their skin having a strong glitter from the sand's highlights[2] or the sand falling from the edge of their bodies. Furthermore, they cannot replicate their respective Glimmer's personality and mannerisms. For example, an Aladdin Illusion was completely subservient to Jafar, a stark contrast to the real Aladdin. A Sultan Illusion was noted to share Jafar's malicious speech patterns and cadence, despite having the same voice as the real Sultan's.[3]
