Entangled glimmers are those who came under the control of Ursula after she escaped from a special lorebook inside the Great Illuminary. After her return, Ursula used her sorcery to entangle a number of glimmers to do her nefarious bidding against their wills (for the most part). Entanglement happened to all types of characters, targeting those who could best support Ursula's ambition to rule Lorcana. Entanglement usually appeared in the form of pink seaweed and ominous ink smoke encircling the entangled glimmer.

Once ensnared, the entanglement effects are unavoidable and can only be reversed in rare instances. For instance, Belle - Accomplished Mystic was able to undo the entanglement of Beast before the entanglement could overtake him. Entangled Glimmers were ultimately freed from their enslavement when the combined efforts of the Illumineers and glimmers stripped Ursula of her powers and defeated her.[1]
