Illumineer's Quests are products that contain a standalone game in which up to 4 players can team up or attempt to win the scenario solo. The players control the adversary character and their Scenario Deck as some different rules apply to it. It also contains exclusive Battleground cards.

Scenario Deck

A Scenario Deck is a prebuilt deck that contains Characters, Items and Actions used to personify the opponent character as a player in a Quest game. A Scenario Deck is different from a normal deck in various ways:

• Only 50 cards, as opposed to the normal 60.
• None of the cards have an ink color.
• The back of the cards have a Golden coloring.
• Ink from the Inkwell required to play the cards is not exerted.

Scenario deck cards shouldn't be used with a normal game deck since the different back color would give away the card before drawing it.

Battleground

Oversized Battleground Cards

A Battleground cards are an unique mecanic added to a Illumineer's Quest game. Only one side of a Battleground card can be chosen at the beginning of the game and remains in effect for the duration of it. The chosen Battleground card sets the difficulty of the game, allowing for Easy, Normal, Hard or Extreme versions of the game. The Battleground adds both new rules to help the opponent character and abilities that players may opt to use at the expense of a lore cost. To use them, a player reduces their lore total by the amount listed for the ability. These abilities are restricted to be used once per turn, and since all player turns happen at the same time only one player can pay and apply it.
