Item is one of the Card Types used in Disney Lorcana. They represent a Glimmer created by an Illumineer using magical Ink and a Story Star, therefore they are not the original artifacts from the Disney Stories which were stored in the Hall of Lorcana before the Ink Flood washed them away into The Inklands. It's unknown if Illumineers are able to modify the copies of the original items or if the copies have the same power and abilities as the originals. Items are not unique. More than 1 copy of the same item can be in play at the same time.

Items can enter play from a player's hand in a variety of ways. The most common one being by exerting Ink to pay its Cost. However, most Items don't offer an advantage from just entering play, they require to pay an additional Cost to activate their Ability. This cost must be payed again every turn that the player wishes to use the ability, opting not to pay if so is decided. If the item is used during a turn it becomes exerted. Unlike Characters, Items do not have to "wait for their ink to dry" and can Exert to be used on the same turn that they are played. Most items remain in play for the rest of the game unless they are banished. Very few Abilities exist to do so. Since Items don't have Willpower they can't receive damage.

Items have a clear synergy with Sapphire Ink, offering the most interactions with Character and Actions of said Ink.
