When a Character Challenges another Character, they deal each other Damage equal to their Strength. They can also receive Damage from Abilities outside of a Challenge.
This Damage on Characters accumulates over time and can be removed through card abilities as well.
You keep track of a character’s Damage using Damage counters you put on the card. If the number of Damage counters on a character is equal to or greater than their Willpower, they’re Banished and will be placed into the Discard pile.
As of Into the Inklands, damage counters can be moved from one character or location onto another. This does not count as "dealing damage" or "damaging" a character and as a result does not initiate effects that require this.
