Ready

Ready is a state that a card can have, the opposite of Exerted. To ready a card is to turn it from Exerted to Ready by turning it upright.

A Ready card is indicated by a vertical orientation.

By default, all cards come into play Ready, although those with the Bodyguard keyword may optionally choose to come into play Exerted instead.

At the start of their turns, a player has to Ready all of their cards. This includes Characters in play, Items in play, and cards in their Inkwell.

Only Exerted Characters can be Challenged.

A readied card in a player's Inkwell may be Exerted in order to produce 1 ink.
