Revealing refers to the act of showing to all players one or more cards from a specific location. Often these cards are revealed from a player's hand or from the top of a player's deck.
Reveal mechanic rulings
Several rulings from cards have introduced standardized rules as to how the act of revealing works.
- When a card says to look at the top card of the deck this is a private action and the player isn't required to show the card to other players.
- Revealing is a public action, and as a result is visible to all players, not just the player that activates the ability.
- If a card is revealed and to be returned to the deck, that card is placed face down in the deck unless specified by an ability.
- If multiple cards are revealed and returned to the deck, all players are allowed to know the order in which they return to the deck as they are in the public space during movement back to the deck.
