Lorcana Gateway is a set designed to teach new players how to play the game. It was released on August 9, 2024, alongside Shimmering Skies.

Lorcana Gateway Set includes the following:

Gameplay Rules

There are three rule differences between Lorcana Gateway and a traditional Lorcana game.

1. In Lorcana Gateway, players may not alter their starting hands.
2. In Lorcana Gateway, if a player wishes to put a card into their inkwell during their turn, it must be the first action that the player takes during that main phase.
3. In Lorcana Gateway, if a player attempts to draw a card from an empty deck, they do not lose the game, and can continue to play.

On the last page of the rulebook, these differences are outlined in detail in order to help new players "graduate" to playing traditional Lorcana.
