Stitch - Rock Star Rulings
All Rulings:Shift apply to all Shift characters.
Even if a 3 Ink Character's Cost was reduced to 2 Ink in your hand via the ability of a card such as Lantern then played while Stitch - Rock Star is in play, you will not be able to use Stitch's ADORING FANS ability as that Character's Cost is still 3.[1][2]
Playing a Shift Character on top of a Character also counts as the Character entering play. If you have Coconut Basket and Stitch - New Dog in play and you Shift for Stitch - Rock Star, you will be able to remove up to 2 damage from a chosen character.[3]
- Since Stitch - Rock Star original cost is 6, you cannot use Just in Time on Stitch - Rock Star even if Shift allows it to be played for 4 Ink.[4]
- If you play a character that has a "When you play this character" ability like Simba - Future King while Stitch - Rock Star is on the field, you can choose the order that you resolve their abilities. In this situation, you can choose to resolve Stitch's ability to draw a card first, before you resolve Simba's ability to draw a card, then discard a card.[5]
- Even if you have multiple copies of Stitch - Rock Star in play, you will only be able to use his ADORING FANS ability once on a newly played Character as the ability requires you to Exert the Character to Draw a card. Multiple instances of this ability will not allow you to draw extra cards, because you will not be able to exert the same character multiple times.[2]
- The only exception is if you have 2 copies of Stitch - Rock Star in play, and you play LeFou - Instigator. In this situation, you can choose the order in which to resolve your trigger abilities. For example, you may choose to use the first copy of Stitch's ADORING FANS ability to exert LeFou and draw a card, then use LeFou's FAN THE FLAMES ability to ready LeFou, before you use the second copy of Stitch to once again exert LeFou and draw a card with the ADORING FANS ability.[6]
- If you have a Stitch - Rock Star on the field while your Mufasa - Betrayed Leader was banished during the opponent's turn and his THE SUN WILL SET ability was triggered, if a 2 cost or lower character was revealed, that character must enter play exerted, and you will therefore be unable to exert that character for Stitch's ADORING FANS ability.
- However, if that 2 cost or lower character is LeFou - Instigator, you may first choose to use his FAN THE FLAMES ability to ready himself, before you use Stitch's ability to exert LeFou and draw a card.
- Sleepy - Nodding Off enters play exerted. Therefore when you try to resolve Stitch, you are not able to exert Sleepy to draw a card.[7]
