The Most Diabolical Scheme Rulings
You may play The Most Diabolical Scheme even if you do not have a Villain character in play. However the first and required part of The Most Diabolical Scheme's ability requires you to banish a Villain character you control. If you have no Villain characters in play, you will not be able to banish an opposing character and The Most Diabolical Scheme will resolve without effect.[1]
