Pixar
Pixar Animation Studios, commonly referred to as Pixar, is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California, and is part of the The Walt Disney Studios, a division of the Disney Entertainment segment of The Walt Disney Company.
It is best known for its revolutionary CGI-animated feature films created with PhotoRealistic RenderMan, its own implementation of the industry-standard RenderMan image-rendering application programming interface used to generate high-quality images. The studio started in 1979 as part of the Lucasfilm computer division before it was acquired by Apple Inc. founder Steve Jobs in 1986. In 2006, the Walt Disney Company acquired Pixar. It is currently one of the main four Disney property branches, the other three being the films of Walt Disney Animation Studios, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Star Wars.
Pixar has produced thirty feature films, beginning with Toy Story in 1995, the first full-length feature film made in CGI animation format.
In October 2025, Ravensburger announced that Pixar properties will be added to Disney Lorcana.[1] The first set featuring Pixar characters will be Wilds Unknown.
