When an action is being played, it's not in the hand, in play, or in the discard pile. Therefore, when an opponent plays an action from their hand, as that action resolves, 8}}'s SURGE OF POWER ability won't include that card when calculating Sisu's strength. In normal circumstances where your opponent can only challenge exerted Characters, the Bodyguard Character will have to be exerted for Bodyguard to be active.

If the opponent has 2 Ready characters including a character with Bodyguard, and Cinderella - Stouthearted has her THE SINGING SWORD ability active, she must challenge the character with Bodyguard first even though the Bodyguard is ready and will not be able to challenge the character without Bodyguard. You must choose a character with Bodyguard to challenge if able, and the Bodyguard character does not need to be exerted to be active.

If there are multiple opposing exerted characters with the keyword Bodyguard, you can choose which of those to challenge.

If Lilo - Making a Wish and Simba - Protective Cub are both exerted on the opponent's field and you use Tinker Bell - Most Helpful to give Simba Evasive, Simba can no longer be challenged by a Character that does not have Evasive and Lilo may now be challenged by another Character you have in play that does not have Evasive.

If a character would gain Bodyguard due to a static ability (such as Prince Eric - Ursula's Groom), the character cannot enter play exerted. Since static abilities only function while a card is in play, the character won't have Bodyguard while it's in hand, and therefore won't have the option to enter play exerted.
This page lists all general rulings that applies to all cards and are not limited to any specific card.

<div style='text-align: center;'> Rulings</div>
Playing cards and choosing targets
A Character or Item card is considered as played when all Costs have been paid and it has entered the field. An Action card is considered as played when all costs have ben paid and its effect has resolved.

You only choose the "chosen" choice of your ability when the ability is resolving.
* If the active player Tinker Bell - Giant Fairy Challenges and Banishes the opponent's Aurora - Dreaming Guardian, Aurora is banished and put into the Discard pile before any effect triggers. As Aurora is no longer in play, her PROTECTIVE EMBRACE ability will no longer be active and the opponent's other Characters will no longer have Ward. As such, Tinker Bell may use her PUNY PIRATE! ability to deal 2 damage another opponent's character.

Playing a card and resolving a card are different in timing. You play a card when you announce it, and effects that have met their condition will get to trigger, after the current card has resolved.
* For example, if you play Mother Knows Best on a character that has an ability for playing Actions such as Mickey Mouse - Artful Rogue, that ability will still get to trigger.

Cards can be played with no effect. Even if there are no characters on the board, you can play Bounce and Dragon Fire. Similarly, even if the opponent has only 1 card or 0 cards in hand, you can still play You Have Forgotten Me.

* In the case of Just in Time, as the card says "You may play a character with cost 5 or less for free.", you are able to play Just in Time, then not play a character after that using Just in Time's ability.

Even though you can play a card that has no target which results in the card having no effect, target choosing is still mandatory. If there is a valid target for the card when it is played, that target must be chosen.

* If only you have a character on the board and you play Dragon Fire, you must select one of your own characters to Banish with Dragon Fire.

If a card says to perform an action, do as much as you can to fulfill the requirements. This does NOT apply to actions that are part of a cost.
* For example, if you activate Develop Your Brain when you only have 1 card left in your Deck, you look at that card and then put it into your Hand.

A Character who still has "wet Ink" and is currently Ready can still be chosen to be the target of an Ability.

When you are using an ability that chooses a card from the Discard pile such as Hades - Lord of the Underworld, Part of Your World or Magic Broom - Bucket Brigade, you are required to announce the card you are choosing.

Character abilities that do not require them to be exerted can be used on the same turn that they are played. They do not have to have "dry Ink" to use those abilities.

* For example, Mickey Mouse - Wayward Sorcerer ANIMATE BROOM Ability can be used on the turn that Mickey Mouse - Wayward Sorcerer was played as this Ability does not require him to Exert.

Understanding card abilities with multiple parts
Card abilities with 2 parts will have different terms to break down whether certain parts of the abilities are compulsory for the following part to be possible.
# When a card uses the word "and" for two abilities in a sentence, both need to be true for either to be used.
# When "," or the ability is on a different line (separated by ".") is used, you will perform as much as you can.
# When "To" is used, you must do the first part of the ability in order to be able to use the second part of the ability. However, you can still use the first part of the ability, even if the second part cannot be done.

* For example 1 with an ability that uses "and", a suitable example is The Queen - Commanding Presence's "WHO IS THE FAIREST? Whenever this character quests, chosen opposing character gets -4 strength this turn and chosen character gets +4 strength this turn" ability. In order to choose a character to gain 4 strength, there must be an opposing character you can choose to reduce 4 strength from.
* For example 2 with an ability that uses ",", or have abilities on a different line (separated by "."), a suitable example is Simba - Future King's "GUESS WHAT? When you play this character, you may draw a card, then choose and discard a card." ability. You must perform the card ability as much as you can, so after you draw a card, if you are able to, you must discard a card.
* For example 3 with an ability that uses "to", a suitable example is Launch's "Banish chosen item of yours to deal 5 damage to chosen character." ability. You may choose to only banish a chosen item of yours even if there are no other characters in play. However you are unable to choose to only deal 5 damage to a character, if there are no item of yours in play to banish.

Resolving Multiple Ability Triggers
If multiple triggered abilities are trying to resolve at the same time, the active player first resolves all of their abilities, then the next player in turn order, and so on, until all triggered abilities are resolved. If a single player has multiple triggered abilities waiting to be resolved, they choose any one of them to be resolved next, repeating this process until they have run out of their own triggers. If, during this process, another ability triggers under the control of the player that is currently resolving triggers, that player may choose to resolve it just the same as any other triggered ability waiting to resolve. There is no "ordering" of triggers whatsoever, as players can always freely choose which pending trigger they control will resolve next.

* For example, the active player has abilities A, B and C while their opponent has abilities X, Y and Z that have all met their condition to be triggered successfully at the same time. While choosing to resolving ability A first, the active player has successfully met the condition to trigger a new ability D. In this situation, the active player will then choose to resolve any one of triggers B, C, or D next.

* In addition, if the opponent while resolving their ability X triggered the active player's ability E, the active player will have to wait until the opponent has resolved all of their abilities first (Abilities Y and Z, and anymore that may have been triggered), before the active player then gets to resolve their triggered ability E.

Card in play
There is no limit to the number of Characters that can be in play at once.

If a Character's Strength would be reduced to 0 or below 0, the Character is treated as having 0 Strength. If an ability or effect is applied later to add Strength to that Character, all modifiers to the Character's Strength is applied at the same time to calculate it's final total Strength. (If the new total Strength is still at 0 or below 0, the Character is still treated as having 0 Strength.)

Cards in the Hand / Deck / Inkwell is treated as private knowledge and the other players do not have knowledge of cards in those places. When a card goes to one of those zones, the card is not treated as the same card, and would be treated as if it were another card.
* When a Character is returned to hand by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, you are able to play the character that was returned to hand via the ability of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo as it would be treated as another card.

Abilities such as Four Dozen Eggs and Li Shang - Archery Instructor that affect other characters, only affects the cards currently in play. Characters that were put into play after these abilities were played will not have those effects applied on them.

Keywords
A character cannot gain multiple instance of a Keyword, such as Reckless or Support. Keywords with a +N such as Challenger or Resist is additive.
* If you have two copies of Tinker Bell - Peter Pan's Ally in play, each of them gives your Peter Pan (character)s Challenger + 1, giving each Peter Pan Character a total of Challenger + 2.

Win / Lose Condition
When you must draw a card but can no longer draw because you have no more cards remaining in your deck, you lose the game.

If a condition is met that causes a player to win or lose, it applies immediately, even if this applies in the middle of the resolution of an effect. In the case of a player losing, the game continues (if more than 1 player remains) with the current effect still resolving. Any effects waiting to resolve from players that have lost are removed.
* In a multiplayer game where all the players have less then 7 cards left in their deck and are unable to draw, the player who activated A Whole New World would lose first. A Whole New World would then continue to resolve for the player on the immediate left (As per Multiplayer rules), with that player losing as well. This would carry on until there is only 1 player remaining, with the last player (Who was seated on the right of the player who activated A Whole New World) winning the game.

Other Rulings
The Disney Lorcana team has stated that there is currently no rule regarding disallowing of alternate language cards in an event. The Companion App also has every released card available in every language, so it is convenient to reference another language to check cards if necessary.

The number of cards remaining in a deck is public knowledge.
